At Southern Gastroenterology Associates, P.C., our priorities are you and your health. Specializing in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases of the gastrointestinal system and liver, we have been promoting excellence in digestive health since 2003. Our board-certified physicians are experts in gastroenterology and liver diseases and our caring staff will make sure all your concerns are fully addressed. We perform more than 2,000 colonoscopies and endoscopies per year with access to a state-of-the-art hospital endoscopy center.
Our office hours are from 8.30 am to 5:00 pm,

Our Providers
Suresh G. Jayatilaka, M.D.
Dr. Jayatilaka is the Director Of Student Medical Education and Assistant Professor of Medicine for
VCOM {The Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine} and Lynchburg University School of
Osteopathic Medicine(LUCOM). He is also Co-Director of Endoscopy at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital. Dr. Jayatilaka treats all GI disorders but has a particular interest in treatment and management of inflammatory bowel disease, acid reflux disease, and colon cancer prevention.

Dr. Patel practices general gastroenterology in South Boston, Virginia. He grew up
in Roxboro, NC., and his special interests are in therapeutic endoscopy and
advanced liver disease, nutrition, and weight loss.
